It was pretty cloudy and didn't look as though the sea breeze would fill in today so around 3pm (just after discovering that my brother who was visiting Borth for the weekend was in hospital in Aberystwyth) I headed off to the hills with my bike.

I started from the car park at Pendam and as I was getting my bike out of the car there were loads of other cyclists going past, including loots of families with children on pink Barbie bikes. It looked as though I was likely to get held up quite a bit so decided to have a nice easy ride around the Summit trail which I hadn't done before.

I over took a few people on the bits of single track between the Pendam car park and the gate that would take me onto the Summit trail, but from there on I didn't see anyone at all. The trail itself was good, a short rocky climb to the top from where I parked followed by a long long descent on a rocky track and then lots of nice exposed single-track and then some singletrack through the forests. then a long climb up the 'Leg Burner' section. I was expecting this to be harder than it was, it isn't steep, just a long slog up a gentle gradient but once you get into a rhythm (albeit a slow one) it is quite easy.

I then stopped to pump up my rear tyre which seemed to be going down before completing the trail along bits of track that i had already done whilst on the Pendam Trail. I also tagged the northern end of the Pendam trail onto the ride.

A nice little workout. 11 miles in total and 1hr 3mins in the saddle.
